"I am the third born child in the following family order: boy, girl with disability, girl. As I worked through Dr. Leman's teachings I was puzzled by why I not only have traits of a last born child, but I also have traits of a middle child as well as a first born child. I seem to be this wild mix of all three birth orders. So I started to get really skeptical of Kevin Leman's philosophy because I was thinking, 'yeah, but I have ALL those traits to some degree and none of them completely'. Then as he started explaining the exceptions to the rules I learned the first born of each sex will have first born tendencies but in addition, if there is a mentally handicapped child, the next child in the birth order jumps up to that child's position. Therefore, I fit the role for first born girl as well as middle child, while still at times fit the role of baby. Isn't that wild??? Then I started thinking 'WOW this guy knows what he is talking about!!!' He absoultely nailed it! This teaching really helped me understand why I never fully fit the role of last born child. I highly recommend this book."

"I read this book when I was in my late teens and loved it. It is very helpful in understanding myself, my husband and my own children. My husband is the baby of his family by six years and I am a second born. Without this eye-opening book we would never have uderstood the unique characteristics of firstborns. So thank you very much for taking the time to research and write this very informative book."
